Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. For more information about our business, please feel free to visit our Ebay Profile at /usr/silver_brass_music  This is a 1990s-era Conn 88H large bore tenor trombone (serial number on the bell 5 632814) with a traditional wrap F attachment. The horn has a slide bore of .547"/.547" and the bell measures 8 1/2". This instrument plays very well. The valve works very well, and has very good compression. The slide action is quite good, but there are some small imperfections in both the inner and the outer tubes and if you are highly particular about your slide you may want to have these addressed. There are several small spots of typical "Conn wear" on the stockings, but overall the slide still functions well. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are small dings and pings as well as general pitting, scratching and etching throughout the horn. This gives the horn a slightly satin finish in areas. The guard on the main slide crook has been replaced. The bell engraving reads: “CONN/ 88H/ U.S.A.”

This horn is not lacquered; therefore, fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This trombone comes with a somewhat worn old case and a mouthpiece in good condition for play-testing purposes. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N.
